The JointABILITY a HAWK tool
The JointABILITY is a matching edge jointer. It lets you create virtually seamless edge joints on every project. Elminate the chatter, tear-out, and sniping every woodworker faces with traditional jointers and table saws. Using a patented technique, the JointABILITY gives you the expertise to create perfect fitting 90° matched edges using your router.

ADVANTAGES
Anything up to 5' long that you can do with a jointer or table saw can be done with a JointABILITY, including making a rough edge true! And with the JointABILITY you only need to make two passes MAXIMUM, rather than the many passes you would have to make with a jointer.

The JointABILITY is a space saver all the way around. When in use, you only need nine foot of length to work with, not the 16+ feet you would need with a jointer. Then, when you're finished, just hang it on the wall to free up your shop space again.

Now you can cut and rip a sheet of whatever material you are using in only the space of the sheet. You move the router and circular saw rather than trying to maneuver the whole sheet into a table saw.
When cutting a joint, you can now cut it into the TOP of a board where you can see what you are doing, rather than cutting into the bottom as you would when using a shaper table or router table.

THE KEY ADVANTAGE is that the JointABILITY is a matching edge jointer. That is, you lable the edges and the JointABILITY so the two sides of the joint are cut on opposite sides of the JointABILITY. This guarantees that even if there is any curvature of the joint, it WILL match.

You can also take a rough cut slab and make a board out of it. Use the JointABILITY to make a cut on each side and have a finished, usable board!
With the JointABILITY, a dado or rabbet is cut with the side being cut facing you (not down as with a table saw) allowing you to see the results!

Use your circular saw with the JointABILITY to cut sheets to the desired size or give a first cut on uncut edges of lumber before giving it a finish cut with your router.

Perfectly squared joints for gluing and you can square your glued up panels as well.

WIth the JointABILITY, the shape of your work piece does not matter. Just mark the project line on the stock and place it in the JointABILITY. Any place you can draw a straight line, you can cut a 90° face.

Makes perfect joints every time. Even dado and rabbet joints. For use with many solid materials including hardwoods, softwoods, plywood, particleboard, orientated strand board (OSB), veneers of all kinds, laminates, even plastics. If you can cut it on your jointer or table saw, you can cut it on the JointABILITY.

OPERATING THE JointABILITY
We start with high grade square tubing, then straighten it and finally attach it to the melamine in a fixture. Each step is to yield the straightest edge possible. Even if there were a bow to it, the JointABILITY will give matching curves to glue your edges up just by using both sides!
1. Lay out your boards, matching both the grain and color. Label the edges such that an edge labeled A will match to an edge labeled B. Have your JointABILITY sides labeled A and B.
