Helical Planer Head

Helical (spiral) head designed for the 820 variable speed planer. These heads are fantastic; we install them on all our new planers! They provide excellent cuts and result in an exceptionally smooth board, significantly reducing sanding time by half or more.

When the blades appear to dull, simply turn them 1/4 turn, and you’ll have a fresh set of knives ready for use. Every head contains 100 knives, and each knife can be rotated 4 times, which means you effectively get 4 sets of knives in one! This design incorporates the benefits of shear, helix, and spiral tooth action, yielding a cleaner, smoother cut across the board.

Thanks to the staggered tooth design, there's no longer a need to replace a brand new straight blade if you accidentally run a nail or tough knot through your planer. With this planer head, you only need to swap out 1 or 2 low-cost inserts.
